European Medical Tourism Conference
By Maria Caceres | 05.22.10 1 Comment » Traveling Around The World , How We Can Help YouWe just returned from a trip to Italy to attend the European Medical Tourism Conference just outside of Venice. For Seven Corners, the conference was an opportunity to review the medical tourism industry as well as a chance to meet with hospitals and medical groups from throughout the world. Our days were filled with meetings with hospital representatives from Spain, Turkey, Germany, and of course, Italy.
I quickly noticed that these international hospitals are aware of the Seven Corners name and appreciate our knowledge of international healthcare. Our goal when meeting hospital representatives is to evaluate the people behind the facilities who will eventually treat our insureds and members should they need care while away from home. While internet access and email can address business specifics, nothing can compare to personal contact in developing a proper relationship.
Prior to the start of the conference, I had a chance to tour several public hospitals in and around Rome. These are state run hospitals that not only provide care for the local residents, but who also treat travelers who require emergency care. The quality of the facilities was excellent and I most certainly appreciated everyone’s time in giving an American visitor a detailed tour.
Stay tuned, I learned about a new segment of Medical Tourism that includes a cruise package.

Indeed in order to maintain good relationships between medical tourists and health care providers we need to contact personally.
Best reagards.
